Today, Just a note about comments and contributions.

Hello to all from Terry at GoodGalley.com. I have been gratified and very flattered with some of the private comments that I have gotten over the www.GoodGalley.com site and the blogs, one of which you are reading now. It is so much fun to talk to people about food, preparation techniques and recipes, as well as the tools and utensils that it takes to make it all go.... Read More

Sausage Bread! You will love this! Use your cookie sheets!

It was serious party time at the old casa this weekend. We had our traditional Millionaire Seafood Gumbo and Sausage Bread with lots of appetizers and deserts. I thought I'd share the sausage bread idea today. It seems that I can never make enough. If there is any left over, I always have requests for sausage bread care packages. It couldn't be easier.

Mid week Blues? Try Bubba Ducote's Etouffee. Simple and really Good!

Mid week doldrums getting you down? Here’s a nifty little recipe that I learned from my wife’s good friend, Bubba Ducote. Yes, Bubba is a Cajun and yes, Bubba can cook anything and make it taste great. However, my friends from just over the Sabine River are usually not into quick and easy. Their gumbos and etouffees are all day projects. Bubba, on the other hand, is a likably... Read More

Adding a Comment to Yesterdays Post. Spring Form Pans! More Than Cheesecake!

One of the things that I forgot to mention yesterday, when we were talking about low carb crusts for holiday pies and cheesecakes, is the absolutely invaluable spring form pan. You really should have these things in a number of sizes. If you have to choose only one, I would recommend a 9” with as deep a ring as you can find. I prefer non-stick in this application. You will not... Read More

Particpate in the Thanksgiving around you. You'll find all kinds of ways to say Thanks!

Oh the food this week! I was fortunate enough to participate in the annual Crossbridge Christian Church Thanksgiving Luncheon. I though I would just leave you with a short blog today thanking the people that made that magnificent event possible. Great work and good times. Check out Crossbridge, if you are in the West Houston Area. Kevin Pigg is the Senior Minister there and one... Read More

If your gathering isn't on 'The Day", why not try a Pork Loin?

Monday of Thanksgiving Week! This is a good holiday for us foodies. After all, that’s a large component of what we do at this time of year. However, on of the things that can happen is a terrible repetition of the same meal over and over again, if you have several places to go. Although most families set a very diverse and delicious table, generally it consists of the same... Read More

Quick Ravoli for Friday Afternoon! Let's Party!

It’s Friday and the weekend is coming up. Now, if you are like me, there are two things that you want for the weekend almost without fail. I want some great food and for someone else to make it. Only teasing! I love to cook, but I do love to find the simple stuff for Friday. Lately, I’ve seen a lot of the pro chefs on TV and the Web talking about making ravioli with won-ton... Read More

Relax. It's going to get busy enough. Cheese and wine this evening.

Really great weather in Houston today! Nice and crisp in the morning and warm and inviting in the afternoon. One of the things that I really like to do on such a great day is to enjoy a great glass of wine and some cheese out on the patio while I watch the dos frisk around. Truth be known, I enjoy wine and cheese inside on miserable days, as well.

My tastes have turned to the... Read More

Your Roasting Pan - The most versatile pan in the kitchen!

OK! We’re getting closer to the day! We want to be ready and know how to use all of the great tools that are available to us to make life easier. One of the discussions that I’ve had with my daughter, son and number of my friends is why they should buy a roaster (roasting pan), particularly a roaster with a lid and a rack. Well, the simple answer is that it isn’t just a... Read More

Grilling Sausages and Great Fall Festivals!

What an absolutely great time of year! Fall is moving in with all of its great festivals and wonderful weather. Here in Texas, our large German and Czech communities are celebrating the harvest and the final warm days before winter, The Oktoberfest was just a ball this year.
