I have a friend whose daughter is getting married in a few months. My friend is going to present her daughter with an invaluable gift, besides helping pay for the wedding, she made a family cookbook for her. In it, my friend has typed up every family favorite cooking recipes and some traditional easy to prepare recipes. She put all the cooking recipes in a beautiful cookbook binder for her daughter and future husband. My friend says her daughter’s fiancé probably cooks more than her daughter does and so the cookbook will be used by both. I think this was a fantastic and very creative idea. I wished my mom would have made up a cookbook for me in the beginnings of my marriage. I would call her constantly back then and ask how did you prepare this or that. I did purchase several cookbooks too and there was one cookbook that was my favorite that was constantly referred too. I know my friend’s daughter will cherish and probably use her own heirloom cookbook on a daily basis.
