Generally, I know this intended to be a summer drink, but the spicy nature and minty zip in this drink goes well with a fireside chat with good friends as well.  As the season gets going, give this wonderful creation from Maksym Pazuniak of Cure and Rambla (New Orleans) a try.  This new take on the old mint julep won top honors on thCocktail Trail in The Big Easy in 2009!

2 1/4 ounces white rum (The best you can find.  I use Texas' own Dripping Springs for this.)
1/2 ounce Clement Creole Shrubb (This stuff is really hard to find.  Use Orange XO or Curacao instead).
1/4 ounce Captain Morgan 100 Rum
2 dashes Fee Bros. Peach bitters
2 dashes Angostura bitters
8 to 10 mint leaves (I like to muddle these a bit. Like a mojito.)
1 Sugar Cube (level teaspoon works here.  I like turbinato or raw sugar.)

Combine all ingredients and serve.

Just a dynamite recipe from a great master mixologist. How do these guys do it?  If your looking for a theme cocktail for a gathering this season, this is a winner.
