Boy, wonders never cease!  During this time of cookies and pastries and pies and cakes and so on and so on, what one doesn't need is another complicated stupid recipe that will eat into some good social time with the family and friends.  Here's is one that I have used for years for late evening (early morning) snacks and breakfasts on Christmas morning when you are looking for good and quick.

Egg Nog French Toast -

There really isn't any mystery to this.  Commercial eggnog from the grocery generally has enough egg in in (pasteurized, of course) to pull this off.  You really don't have to add anything, if you don't want to.  I put in a bit of vanilla extract and some cinnamon to taste.  You can use anything, as long as it isn't too much.

Get some bread slices.  I like sourdough, but I've used everything from sandwich white to ciabatta.  Panatonne makes great dipped toast.  Just put the eggnog in a flatish bowl (like a pasta bowl)  Dip the bread quickly into the eggnog an both sides (wet it, don't soak it).  Then just fry it up in a medium hot skillet.  You can use a non-stick or use a combination of butter and oil.  How ever you usually saute things will work just fine.  I've also baked this stuff.

Regular pancake syrup is the immediate and quick solution.  I like to take some strawberry jam and mix it into the maple syrup with a stick of butter over low heat.  Add just a bit of cinnamon and you've got a really easy quick hand-me down family favorite!
